ところで、この比羅夫駅ですが、日本で唯一というレアな施設があることをご存じでしょうか？実は、無人駅でありながら駅舎内に泊まることができる「駅の宿ひらふ」という民宿を併設しています。この特別感もあり、鉄道ファンから人気を集めています。駅の中にあるため、列車から降りたら17歩、徒歩0分でチェックイン可能。宿泊できるのは、駅舎2階(2部屋)と駅に隣接するログコテージの計3部屋。夕食は、ホームにて列車を眺めながら炭火焼バーベキューが楽しめます(期間・時間指定あり)。
